Spring 2026 Gen Ed Registration

  • Registration is now closed. No enrollment changes can be made between now and the start of open add/drop on Monday, January 12.
  • If you applied for a capped Gen Ed course in the lottery and were not successful, but still want to be considered for a seat in the class, you may still have a chance to enroll. Please submit a new petition in case a spot opens up. Please do not write faculty directly unless instructed to do so on the course Canvas site.
  • For uncapped Gen Ed courses, you may freely enroll once add/drop opens.
  • For a searchable list of Spring 2026 Gen Ed courses, please see our course catalog. You can filter for capped or uncapped courses and/or by Gen Ed category.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

  • I’m getting a “no waitlist available” or “course full” error message when registering for a section.
Discussion sections will naturally fill up as students register in Gen Ed courses. If you get this message and there are still open seats in the lecture portion of the course, it is likely you have tried to enroll in a full section.  Edit your section registration to one that has an open spot (indicated by a green circle in your Crimson Cart). If you register in the placeholder section, please be aware that section times may not be added/changed, and your options may become more limited as enrollment continues. You may eventually need to select from the options available or sign up for a different class. If you receive this error and the lecture is accompanied by a blue square icon, then the course is completely full.
  • I want to change my section enrollment.
During registration period, you can edit your own section enrollment by following these instructions. If you register in the placeholder section, please be aware that section times may not be added/changed, and your options may become more limited as enrollment continues. You may eventually need to select from the options available or sign up for a different class.
